Brief description of the beneficiation process of Myanmar rock tin ore (iron treatment)

1. Ore properties
Myanmar rock tin ore is mainly composed of cassiterite (SnO₂), accompanied by iron-containing minerals such as hematite and limonite, and some contain sulfides (such as pyrite). The cassiterite is unevenly distributed and closely coexists with iron minerals, requiring targeted beneficiation.
2. Ore beneficiation process
(1) Crushing and grinding
- Coarse crushing (jaw crusher) → Fine crushing (cone crusher) → Ball mill grinding to -0.074mm, accounting for 60%~70%, dissociating cassiterite and iron minerals.
(2) Pre-selection and iron removal
- Magnetic separation: Medium-strength magnetic separation (magnetic field strength 0.6~1.2T) separates hematite and limonite, reducing the subsequent tin concentration load.
- Gravity separation pre-concentration: Use spiral chute or shaking table to discard tailings, initially recover coarse cassiterite and remove some light-gravity gangue.
(3) Cassiterite main selection
- Gravity separation core: Spiral chute + shaking table to separate fine cassiterite, jig machine + shaking table to separate coarse cassiterite to obtain coarse concentrate.

- Flotation auxiliary: Use oleic acid collectors for flotation of fine cassiterite (-20μm), or specific agents such as phenylarsonic acid to suppress iron minerals.
