Trommel screen working principle:
The drum screen is installed at a 2-5° incline, driven by a motor and reducer, rotating at low speed.
Gold-bearing/mud-bearing ore is fed into the drum from the inlet:
1. The rotating drum continuously lifts and tumbles the material, which then slowly moves from the inlet to the outlet along the inclined drum.
2. Fine particles smaller than the screen aperture (gold-bearing slurry) pass through the screen and fall, becoming undersize material, which is sent to gravity separation equipment such as sluices or centrifugal gold concentrators.
3. Larger gravel and waste rock larger than the screen aperture slide forward inside the drum and are finally discharged from the tail end.
Portable gold washing trommel screen is a mobile alluvial‑gold washing & screening unit, specially designed for sand‑gold, placer gold deposits. Mounted on tire / trailer chassis, the whole plant can be transported easily between different mining sites. Raw sand‑gold material feeds into the rotating trommel drum, high‑pressure water nozzles inside wash away sticky clay, fine gold‑bearing slurry passes through screen holes, coarse gravels are discharged from drum end. Under‑screen gold slurry can be matched with gold sluice box, gold centrifugal concentrator for further fine‑gold recovery. Our trommel screen adopts high‑manganese steel screen mesh, anti‑blocking water‑spray design, diesel or electric drive optional.
