What are the differences between the purification of alluvial tin ore and vein tin ore?

What are the differences between the purification of alluvial tin ore and vein tin ore?

One. Alluvial Tin Ore Beneficiation Process: Alluvial tin ore is primarily formed from alluvial sand deposits. The minerals are naturally dissociated, so crushing and grinding are not required, but desludging and classification are necessary.

1. Mining Methods: Mining methods include: water guns and sand pumps, electric shovels and bulldozers, and sand dredging vessels. Pretreatment: Screening to remove gravel. Desludging is required when the mud content is high.

2. Roughing Equipment: Large jigs, cone concentrators, and coarse chutes (large processing capacity, suitable for low-grade ores). Purpose: Initially concentrate heavy minerals (such as cassiterite) and discard light gangue.

3. Concentration Process: The roughing concentrate is sent to a central concentrator, where a combination of gravity separation (shaking tables, spiral chutes), magnetic separation, flotation machine, or electrostatic separation is used. Features: Separates associated minerals (such as tungsten, rare earth elements, and gold) to produce high-purity tin concentrate.

4. Typical Application (Yunnan Alluvial Tin Ore): Ore Characteristics: Fine-grained cassiterite, high mud content, and associated difficult-to-separate metals (lead, zinc, and indium). Process: Ore sand system (+0.037mm): three-stage shaking table separation, middling regrinding and re-separation. Ore slime system (-0.037mm): centrifugal concentrator roughing → belt chute concentrating → ore slime shaking table sweeping.

1:use trommel screen for washing and screen.

2:Fine size material to spiral separator/spiral chute for separation fine size tin and gold.

3:the corase size material to jig machine for separation corase tin and gold.

4; All concentrate to shaking table for concentration.

Two. Vein Tin Ore Beneficiation Process: Vein tin ore has a high tin grade, but requires crushing and grinding to separate the individual tin elements, resulting in a complex process.

1. Ore Preparation and Crushing: Two-stage crushing (jaw crusher + cone crusher) to the appropriate particle size. Ore Washing: Vibrating screen screening + cyclone desliming to reduce the impact of mud.

2. Separation Process: Gravity Separation: Jigs and shaking tables separate cassiterite from gangue (density difference). Combined Process: When sulfide ores are present, flotation is used to recover sulfides such as copper and zinc. Magnetic Minerals: Magnetic separation is used to separate iron minerals (such as magnetite).

3. Yunnan Tin Vein Ore Processing Case: Characteristics of Oxidized Vein Tin Ore: Predominantly lumpy ore, low in mud, and coarse cassiterite. Process: Ore Sand System: Multi-stage shaking table separation, secondary concentrate rewashing, and middlings regrinding. Ore Slime System: Similar to placer tin ore, a centrifuge + chute combination.

Three. Common Technologies and Challenges: Fine-Grained Cassiterite Recovery: The ore slime system requires efficient equipment (such as a centrifugal concentrator). Utilization of Co-Existing Metals: A combined gravity-magnetic-flotation process improves overall recovery rates. Addressing Resource Depletion: Yunnan Tin extends mine life by treating tailings and low-grade ore. In summary: Alluvial tin ores focus on gravity separation, while vein tin ores require a combination of crushing and gravity separation. Both require targeted slime treatment and optimized recovery of co-existing minerals.
